Stand Up, Be Heard: Youth advocacy in action

The Y is excited to launch a new way for young people to get involved in advocacy, and invite them to attend our new event, Stand Up, Be Heard: Youth Advocacy in Action, made for young people, by young people, wanting to make a difference.

So, are you ready to create positive change?

Advocacy is taking an action (any action!) that supports, defends or argues for a cause on behalf of other people and sometimes yourself. At Youth Voice’s free event, you’ll learn a bunch about what advocacy is and why it’s important.

This session will ask you to be bold and imaginative, and we'll give you the tools you need to step forward confidently into your advocacy journey. We will also be covering:

  • How young people became leaders in this advocacy space;
  • How you can make a difference about something you’re passionate about; and
  • How you can create your own advocacy roadmap.

Virtual event information: March 18, 2021 05:30 PM via Zoom

Advocacy is taking an action (any action!) that supports, defends, or argues for a cause on behalf of other people (and sometimes yourself). How can you advocate for issues that you are passionate about? How are other young people using their voices to advocate around the world? Join our young people as they take you through how you can use advocacy to engage with a community of like-minded young people and make change in the world.
